Notes from the Winemaker:
LOLA Chardonnay is pale gold in color with aromas of tropical fruits and citrus, complimented by delicate floral aromas and a hint of oak. The bright fruit is balanced with a rich mouth-feel, making this wine a perfect compliment to seafood and spice. The 2013 vintage was picked slightly earlier in order to ensure a firmer acid structure than typical for a California Chardonnay.
Technical Data:
Region: Sonoma
Pre Fermentation: 2 day cold settle
Fermentation: 7 day native yeast at 80 degrees
Fermentation: Method Cement tank
Oa:k 20% 2nd year French for 5 months going through partial malolactic fermentation
Alcohol: 13%
Cases produced: 2214 cases
Ratings & Reviews
Antonio Galloni (2014 Vintage):
"The 2014 Chardonnay is a pretty, bright wine to drink now and over the next few years. Varietal Chardonnay notes are given an extra kick of brightness from partial aging in steel. Drink this fresh, inviting Chardonnay over the next 2-3 years." - Antonio Galloni (January 2016)
Wine Enthusiast Magazine (2013 Vintage):
"Caramel, butterscotch and soft, ripe fruit mark this simple Chardonnay. It’s fortunately balanced in acidity, and the underlying lime, pineapple and peach flavors are just fine." - (12/1/2013)
