About the Winery:
There is one family in Veneto who believed in Prosecco far before it became fashionable. And that is the Canella family. The Canella brand (and family) comes from the heart of the Conegliano appellation, now a DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita), and has become almost synonymous with Prosecco itself. Their story began with Luciano Canella in 1947.
His winery was ideally located near the appellations historic heart, Conegliano. The Canella vineyards were and still are at the precise altitude where grape-ripening is more gradual and as a result, the fragrances are more intense and the natural fruit acidity is at its best.
About the Wine:
85% Glera and 15% Pinot Noir. This is the official recipe of the Consorzio Prosecco DOC for the new category of Prosecco Rose. While many traditional winemakers are still discussing, Lorenzo Canella is already presenting his finished Prosecco and answering the question in his typically innovative and charming way.
Tasting Notes:
A lovely shade of pink with fine and persistent perlage, the nose features fruity notes of cherry, wild berries and delicate flowers. On the palate, it is fresh, vivacious and pleasingly dry, with excellent persistence.
Food Pairing:
Very food-flexible, it goes particularly well with starters, pasta and risottos, and white meat.
